Natalia Vodianova (Наталья Водянова) born 28 February 1982 in Nizhny Novgorod. Natalia Vodianova grew up in a poor district of the city with her mother and two half sisters, one of whom has cerebral palsy. Helping her mother with her fruit stall business at the tender age of 11, Vodianova moved into her own apartment with a friend at 15 years old. They started their own fruit stall to help out the struggling family and were actually quite successful, all things considered. They were able to help out Vodianova's sisters, one of whom is an invalid.

At age 15 Natalia Vodianova enrolled in a modeling academy, was told she would need to learn English to succeed and mastered the language in three months. At 17, she moved to Paris to try her hand at modeling. Delighted to work, she was a dream client for the Viva agency and was an inspired woman. Though her salary was small at her first, it was still much more than what she was earning in her native Russia.

Vodianova has achieved considerable success as a runway, editorial and advertising campaign model. To date, Natalia Vodianova has walked in more 175 runway shows for U.S. and European based designers' ready-to wear and couture collections,Now, with campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Miss Sixty to her name, Vodianova is a true supermodel. She has done it all, from Vogue covers to big-name fashion shows. The media loves her not only for her "real" look, but because her story is so inspiring. Living in New York with her husband and son, Vodianova, at only 21 years old, is already poised to take over the whole modeling world with her charm and sex appeal.

As an actress, Vodianova appears in Roman Coppola's 2001 film CQ. In September 2008 Vodianova stated that she was not interested in film making because of her three children, however she appears in director Alexander Kott's 2009 film Probka.

Vodianova was ranked 14th in the U.K. channel Five's 2005 television program World's Greatest Supermodel. Forbes magazine estimates Vodianova earned $4.5 million (USD) between August 2006 and July 2007, and $4.8 million (USD) between May 2007 and April 2008, making her the seventh highest earning model worldwide during both time periods.
