Ksenia Sukhinova was the second Russian girl, who obtained the title of Miss World. The contest took place on the 13th of December in 2008 in South Africa, Johannesburg. Though Russian ladies are famous for their beauty, there was only one girl from Russia who took the first place prior to Ksenia’s victory.

Natalia Vodianova (Наталья Водянова) born 28 February 1982 in Nizhny Novgorod. Natalia Vodianova grew up in a poor district of the city with her mother and two half sisters, one of whom has cerebral palsy. Helping her mother with her fruit stall business at the tender age of 11, Vodianova moved into her own apartment with a friend at 15 years old. They started their own fruit stall to help out the struggling family and were actually quite successful, all things considered. They were able to help out Vodianova's sisters, one of whom is an invalid.
